If you have Microsoft Data Protection Manager 2007 running, and all of the sudden you are running into problems opening the Reporting tab in your DPM 2007 Administrator Console, this blog entry most probably won’t be the first article you read on the subject.

Therefore I expect you to have restarted the World Wide Web Publishing Service. But that didn’t fix the problem, right?

In stead, try this one:

Start IIS Manager and click on the ReportServer$MS$DPM2007$ virtual directory in the Default Web Site. From there, click on “Edit Feature Permissions…” on the right side, in the Actions pane. In the Edit Feature Permissions dialog, check “Script“. (I expect “Read” to be checked by default. It should be. Do not check “Execute” though!) Click OK to close the dialog, and give the Reporting tab another try… Magic…
